Participants are invited to submit Poster and Concurrent Paper Presentation proposals for the CTEWC’s 2018 International Conference in Sarajevo.

  • 250 colleagues will be able to present a poster. Posters should showcase the spectrum of your ongoing research and its trajectory. Each poster will be listed in the program as a conference presentation and will allow all participants to know you and your work. To assist you in the preparation of the posters, we provide sample templates here (below) and on the CTEWC website: http://www.catholicethics.com/top-stories/sarajevo-conference-presentation-posters
  • 100 colleagues will be able to present a paper at a concurrent session.

Posters will be vehicles to introduce the trajectories of the work of the selected poster presenters to fortify the network, our third conference theme. Rather than posters on a very particular, publishable topic, our call is for posters that convey the sphere of participants’ contemporary work or of their cumulative scholarship.

Sample posters

The sample posters are also available at:

The sample posters are meant to give to the participants some ideas in order to submit their poster proposals and, if accepted, to prepare their posters.

The posters (and their proposals) may be in English, Spanish, French, or Italian. Please specify in which language the final poster will be. Please be aware that you will be responsible for printing your poster before traveling to Sarajevo and for bringing it to Sarajevo. We are unable to provide printing facilities at the conference location or elsewhere in the city. We will assist you in posting the posters in the selected conference locations.

The poster must not exceed the A-one (A1) size: 90 cm x 60 cm = 36 inches x 24 inches.

How to make a poster presentation on fabric

Concurrent paper presentations

We will feature 25 concurrent panels with two presenters on each Concurrent Session. Concurrent paper presentations must focus on one of the three themes of the conference: the climate crisis and its impact on the marginalized; the critical absence of unifying political leadership; and our need to network in response to these two crises. Each paper presentation will run for 15 minutes. Individuals can make an individual proposal or two people may propose a panel with two related presentations. In either case, proposals should provide a title and 200-word abstract for each presenter. These presentations (and their proposals) may be in English, Spanish, French, or Italian. Please specify the language.

In either proposal text, please indicate your name, title, institution, contact information, and whether or not your institution requires you to appear in the program with the title of your work in order to get assistance with funding for the conference.

How many proposals?

If they wish, participants may submit one proposal each for a poster and a concurrent paper presentation, but this is in no way required. Please be aware that participants will be selected only to post either a poster or to present a paper at a concurrent session.

Proposals are due by January 10, 2018 to Kristin Heyer (kristin.heyer@bc.edu). Participants will be notified of their acceptance by February 20, 2018.
